The trailer for the fourth season of the Apple TV Plus series Ted Lasso has been released, confirming the return of the show and revealing that Jason Sudeikis' character, Ted Lasso, will take on coaching a women's football team. The new season is set to begin streaming on August 5.
Return to Richmond
The trailer shows Ted Lasso back in the clubroom, with his iconic "Believe" sign re-taped to the wall. He is greeted by former player and now assistant coach Roy Kent. The clips also feature other main cast members, including Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard and Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton. Tanya Reynolds joins the coaching staff to help manage the new women's football team. The official synopsis indicates that Ted and the team will face their biggest challenge yet, learning to take chances and "leap before they look."

Council attributes initial high figures to low testing volumes, not a borough-wide surge.
The series, which follows an American football coach managing a British soccer team, AFC Richmond, was widely believed to have concluded after its third season in 2023. Jason Sudeikis had previously stated that season three represented "the end of the story we wanted to tell," and co-writer Brett Goldstein had indicated the show was "planned as three." However, it was announced in March 2025 that the series would continue.
Critical Acclaim
Ted Lasso has garnered significant critical attention throughout its run, receiving a total of 61 Emmy nominations and winning 13 awards. Jason Sudeikis has won the lead actor in a comedy series award twice, in 2021 and 2022. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, Bill Lawrence, and Joe Kelly, based on characters from NBC Sports.
