What makes a useful tip
- What happened, where, and roughly when.
- How you know — you saw it, you received a letter, it was discussed at a meeting.
- Anything documentary: a photograph, a planning reference, a letter, a link.
What happens next
An editor reads every tip. We will only come back to you if we need more detail, and we will not publish your name unless you tell us we can.
If a tip cannot be corroborated, we do not publish it. That is the same standard we apply to everyone else's reporting when we score it.
