The Nimbus Access Card is being introduced to help disabled people discreetly signal their needs to staff. While awareness of the card is still growing, its adoption is increasing. Furthermore, the Sunflower scheme provides lanyards for individuals with hidden disabilities, enabling them to indicate that they may require help. This has been found to encourage shop assistants to proactively offer support.

Beyond in-store facilities, services are emerging to assist with other daily needs. The FuelService App is designed to help disabled people locate fuelling stations and arrange assistance with refuelling their vehicles. This addresses a common struggle for those who may not have immediate help available, especially when travelling.

Victoria-Jayne commented on the ongoing efforts by businesses, particularly in the retail sector, to become more accessible. She stated that while learning to ask for adjustments was necessary, she has found many organisations willing to adapt and learn. The principle of making reasonable adjustments, she emphasised, extends to all aspects of life, not just retail.
