Mangrove photography awards receive thousands of entries
The 12th annual awards, run by the Mangrove Action Project, showcased diverse global landscapes.
The Mangrove photography awards, organised by the Mangrove Action Project, have concluded their 12th year, drawing a significant international response. This year's competition saw 5,258 entries submitted by photographers hailing from 87 different countries.
The awards aim to bring attention to mangrove ecosystems around the world. These unique coastal habitats are often found in remote areas, and the competition provides a platform to display landscapes that many people would otherwise not have the opportunity to see.
A selection of winning, runner-up, and highly commended photographs from the 2026 awards have been made available, offering a visual exploration of these vital natural environments. The Mangrove Action Project uses the awards to further its mission of conservation and awareness.
