These figures mark a potential end to Reform UK's sustained dominance in national polls, which had lasted for over a year. Political commentators suggest that the recent change in Labour's leadership and the return of Andy Burnham to Westminster may have contributed to this change. Lord Hayward, a polling expert, stated that the surveys have altered the political conversation, attributing part of Labour's rise to Mr. Burnham's policies and communication, and the absence of Keir Starmer. Professor Sir John Curtice indicated that the "Starmer unbounce" was worth two points to Labour, with Mr. Burnham's initial period as prime minister adding a further four points.
