Fifa, the global governing body for football, has announced plans to invite third-party investors into a new venture, Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE), aimed at consolidating its commercial and event operations. The proposals have drawn sharp criticism from European football's governing body, Uefa, and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Uefa issued a statement asserting that the plans 'cross a line that football's governing institutions should never cross', expressing serious concern over the lack of transparency regarding financial gains and the potential impact on the sport's governance.
