Users on Reddit initially identified the publicly accessible chats. Searches revealed over 200 conversations with Claude across at least 25 pages of search results, with some interactions occurring recently. The conversations included users asking for help with CVs, containing names, contact details, and work histories. Some users also appeared to conduct proprietary research for their work, including transcripts of private discussions.

A spokeswoman for Anthropic stated that Claude users retain control over sharing their conversations. She explained that shared conversation links are not guessable or discoverable unless users choose to share them. "When someone shares a conversation, they are making that content publicly accessible, and like other public web content, it may be archived by third-party services," the spokeswoman added.
