A Metropolitan Police detective suspended in April has been charged with five counts of sexual assault. Four alleged incidents occurred on 3 December 2024 in Barnet, with a fifth in summer 2024. The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charges on 24 July 2026.

England footballer Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following an alleged incident at a Wardour Street nightclub on 6 December 2025. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 September 2026. Toney, who plays for Saudi club Al-Ahli, denies wrongdoing.
