Brent and Ealing record most HMO fires in London as inspections rise

Brent and Ealing had the highest number of fires in houses of multiple occupation (HMOs) in London between January 2025 and July 2026, with 31 and 29 incidents respectively. Brent Council called the figures concerning and said it inspected over 5,000 properties last year to improve safety standards.
