Barnet Council’s food waste collections reach 100 tonnes weekly after Labour revival

Barnet Council’s reinstated food waste collection service now gathers over 100 tonnes weekly, following its March 2026 relaunch. The scheme, cut in 2018 despite Mayor of London advice, has logged two million collections with only 17 fox-related spillage complaints, the council reports.
