Boer War medals sold for £6,000 to soldier’s descendants after century apart

A rare medal group awarded to Private J.R. Venning for service in the Second Boer War was sold at auction for more than £6,000. The medals, including the Queen’s South Africa Medal and Edward VII Territorial Force Efficiency Medal, were secured by Venning’s descendants after over a century.
