Brent children’s inactivity costs NHS £5.2bn as playground funds announced

Only 42% of Brent’s children are classed as active, while 38% of Year 6 pupils are overweight or obese. The Labour government has pledged £18m to create and renovate playgrounds in deprived areas, as physical activity is estimated to save the NHS £5.2bn annually.
