Barclays Profits Soar, TUC Calls for Higher Bank Tax

Barclays announced a 17% rise in half-year profits to £6.1bn and a nearly 30% increase in its bonus pool to £1.3bn. The TUC is urging the government to raise the bank surcharge to help fund energy bills.
