Volunteer Efforts Ensure Harvest
Lucy Gray, a fundraiser for Grow, acknowledged the significant efforts of volunteers who worked to maintain the crops during the summer's heatwaves and drought. She stated that volunteers began watering the plots as early as seven o'clock in the morning to avoid the peak heat.
While the current crop of pumpkins and squashes may be slightly smaller and fewer in number compared to the previous year, Ms Gray confirmed there will be sufficient produce for the event. Grow also operates a stall selling produce just off Barnet Lane.
