Edgware Water Main Burst Causes Flooding

A burst water main on Spur Road in Edgware caused flooding on the morning of July 28, 2026. The incident led to the closure of Spur Road to eastbound traffic between the A5 Stonegrove and Edgware Way. Properties within postcodes HA8, WD6, WD7, and NW7 experienced disruptions to their water supply, with some homes and gardens experiencing flooding. Bus routes 107 and 142 were rerouted as a result of the closure.

Disruption and Repairs

Affinity Water engineers were on-site to address the burst pipe. The company issued an apology for the inconvenience caused and stated that adjustments to the pipework were being made to restore normal water flow. Residents in the affected areas were advised to avoid using water-intensive appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers while repairs were underway. Traffic experienced delays, with congestion reported on surrounding routes, including the A41 and Brockley Hill.
